Who or what am I allowed to take with me?

Travelling together is just more fun. Depending on the ticket, you can take up to four persons with you at no extra charge. And sometimes you can also carry your bicycle with you. Find all information here.

Bicycles

On defined mountain routes and at particular times, we carry a maximum of two bicycles per bus (no special designs) at no extra charge – provided there is enough space.

Important: Prams, passengers in a wheelchair and passengers without a bicycle have priority!

On Mondays to Fridays, there are certain restricted periods when the carriage of bicycles on our buses is not permitted. During the holiday schedule as well as on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, you are allowed to take your bicycle with you on the TüBus all day.

  • For reasons of safety, we do not carry prams/passengers in a wheelchair and bicycles at the same time.
  • The bus driver will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to transport your bicycle.
  • Please hold on tight to your bicycle on the bus.
  • You as a passenger will be held liable for any injury to other passengers or damage to the bus caused by negligence.

Electric kick scooters

Electric kick scooters (weight <15 kg, length <115 cm) can be carried on the TüBus as “hand luggage” when folded up.
Larger or heavier kick scooters (weight >= 15 kg, length >=115 cm) are treated as bicycles and are subject to the conditions and the restricted periods for the carriage of bicycles.
The carriage of self-balancing vehicles (with and without handlebar or knee handlebar), such as Segways, is not permitted.

Mobility scooters (with a user)

The following minimum requirements apply to the carriage of mobility scooters with a user:

  • The manufacturer’s operating manual must expressly state that the mobility scooter with a user is approved for carriage in suitable regular buses.
  • The requirements for maximum size and weight, the brake system and the mobility scooter user must be met.

If all other minimum requirements are met, TüBus will issue corresponding permissions for carriage.

Animals

You can take dogs or other animals with you in suitable containers on trips within the Tübingen city area if you are in possession of a valid ticket.

Objects

You can take prams, wheelchairs, skis or sledges and luggage that is not too bulky with you on trips within the Tübingen city area at no extra charge.

If you have bulky bags, suitcases or other objects, such as a misused pram or invalid chair, you have to buy an extra single ticket for children.
